My Digital Studio!!

This is AMAZING!

My Digital Studio is a digital papercrafting software, brand-new from Stampin’ Up!  (It will be available for customers to purchase Oct 1st.)  This includes digital scrapbook albums (and individual pages), cards, calendars, and a lot more!  You can even burn CDs & DVDs, including videos and music!  (Though I haven’t had a chance to try any of the multi-media section yet.)

My Digital Studio was delivered Monday night.  I had it installed fairly quickly and yesterday Esther (my six-year-old) and I spent quite a bit of time playing with it.  It is so much fun!

This is the first card I made.  It uses the digital version of the Together Forever stamp set.

And then I played around with Eat, Drink & Be Scary.

My daughter spent at least an hour playing with it!  I finally had to make her go outside to play.  This is the card she made (one version of it at least).  She started by picking one of the designer templates, then changed colors, moved things around, and added punches & stamps.  When she found out it comes with the set All in the Family, she was so happy!  (She calls it “the Esther stamp set”, because she can make an Esther with it. lol)

After playing with My Digital Studio for just one day, these are some of my favorite things about it:

  • Easy to use!  With each project, you start with 3 options: Designer Template (which is a completed project designed by Stampin’ Up! artists, which you can manipulate to your hearts content- or just leave it as-is); or Photo Only Template (where you start with a basic layout and you add colors, stamps, accents, photos, etc); or Create Your Own (which is just a blank page.  You choose the size of your project and start from scratch, just like when you are at your own stamp table).
  • Fully and completely customizable! No matter which template you start with, you can change everything about your project that you want to: colors, sizes, images- everything!
  • Stampin’ Up! colors, papers, and images we love!  My Digital Studio includes 2,000 items (stamps, DSP, ribbon, etc) for you to play with right away!  Stampin’ Up! will also offer additional Digital Downloads in the future to add to your collection.
  • Professional print services.  Stampin’ Up! has arranged for our projects to be printed professionally from a company they trust.  Stampin’ Up! will regularly monitor the quality of the print jobs and especially color accuracy.  When you want Real Red, you’ll get Real Red! Of course I haven’t tried it yet- but I love that it is an option and will be printing a project (or a few!) with them soon. (Of course, you can also print using your own home printer, but the colors won’t be guaranteed as they are with the designated print service.)

Can you tell I’m excited?!

I love the possibilites!  And I haven’t even started about hybrid projects!  (I’ll talk about that soon.)

You can count on seeing more digital projects from me soon.  (But don’t worry- I’m not even close to giving up my real ink & paper!  And you’ll be seeing more of that soon, too.)

Pumpkin Patch

Today I’m showing you another cute card we made at the Holiday Shoebox Swap.  Halloween is only a month and a half away.  Time to start thinking about spooky little projects.  :)

This is made with the new stamp set, Pumpkin Patch, in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I love that the set includes patterned ovals that you can use for so many other things- think Easter Eggs, balloons, and flower centers!

See the sparkle on the faces?  We used the 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I love that stuff!

And here is a cute little box made with Pumpkin Patch that Stampin’ Up! is featuring on their website right now.

Spinner Card: Flight of the Butterfly

I shared a Shaker Card last week, and today I have another interactive card for you: a Spinner Card!

I love spinners!  They are just fun to play with!!

I think you’ll like this one, too.

This card features Flight of the Butterfly and uses the new Butterfly punch.  Perfect combo! Love it!

As you tilt the card from side to side, the butterfly spins!  I added a sentiment from the stamp set that shows through the spinning section.

These cards are really best seen in person.  But I did the next best thing- a video!  Its just a few seconds and shows that butterfly move!

This card is definitely going to be one of the projects we make at my On the Move card class.  Sign up today!

Oh shoot! Camera Matchbox

Earlier this year, my trusty rusty camera started behaving not-so-trustfully.  Finally, a couple months ago, it stopped turning on at all.  I’ve sent it in for repairs, and got it back- almost fixed.  I’ll have to call and send it back again.  But, in the meantime, I’ve borrowed my mom’s camera a few times- once for several weeks.

This last time I returned it to my mom, I included a little gift of thanks.  I wanted to create something cute, clever and camera-related.  And I did just that!

Check out my camera matchbox!  Its designed to match my mom’s camera.  Its almost exactly the same size.  I used my punches, a circle cutter (for the larger ones), dimensionals and 1/4″ basic black grosgrain ribbon.
